A warm mahalo to the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s Honorary Chairperson, Dr. Kevin Kurohara, for walking in honor of those who have suffered from dementia.

The event was blessed by great support from the community with many teams, prizes and supporters. Thank you to Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), Waiakea Interact Club and the Bank of Hawaii for volunteering during the program.

A special mahalo to our emcee, Dr. Kimo Alameda, who demonstrated his flexibility in announcing directions, awards as well as an impromptu dance with legendary George Kaikana, an 89-year-old dancer with the Alu Like Kupuna Program.

Thank you to the Prince Kuhio Plaza staff and stores who supported the Alzheimer’s Association for numerous walks.

Alzheimer’s Association greatly appreciates every walker and every business that contributed and every donation. We will be able to continue to provide free presentations, support groups and counseling because of your thoughtfulness.
